Camping and RV Trails

Minnesota is home to plenty of great places for camping, including the hugely popular Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the perfect place for water sports and canoeing adventures. If you enjoy hiking, you might prefer the Superior Hiking Trail or Crosby Manitou State Park, both are big favorites for backpackers. RV management services can set you up for camping in style, so you can visit lots of locations in the comfort of an RV.

Go Shopping!

The Mall of America is the largest shopping mall in the US. If you to spend, spend, spend, there is no better place to go shopping. Here, you will find all the big brand stores, plenty of quirky specialty stores, and lots more besides. Once you have exhausted your credit card, choose one of the on-site restaurants and tuck into a delicious family meal.

Hit the North Shore Drive

The scenic North Shore Drive is a famous stretch of asphalt between Duluth and Grand Portage. Hot the road and admire the glorious scenery. You’ll see the Sawtooth Mountains, lighthouses, waterfalls, beaches, and cliffs. The route passes through eight of Minnesota’s beautiful State Parks, so pack up the RV and camp along the way. The drive is only 142 miles and you could quite easily complete it in a morning, but it is much more fun if you take your time, full up your Instagram feed, and enjoy the views.

Nature Learning Experience

Pay a visit to the Quarry Hill Nature Centre in Rochester. This is a 329-acre park that is full of family-friendly activities. There is a wonderful pond that provides a fascinating learning experience for kids. You will see ducks nesting and cute little ducklings swimming after mama on the pond during spring and summer. In the summer, you can hike the trails and go searching for the famous historical cave. In the winter, the park transforms into a ski resort with ski and show-shoe rental available.

Try Watersports

Minnesota has plenty of lakes where you can try watersports. Stand-up paddleboarding is the latest craze in the US, so rent a SUP at Lake Calhoun, Lake Nokomis, or Lake Harriet and admire the local scenery from a whole new perspective. There are equipment rental outlets in all popular tourist locations, so you will have no problem finding the gear and advice you need to get started. Stay close to the shoreline until you get the hang of it.

If stand-up paddleboarding is too energetic, try your luck at the Canterbury Park racetrack in Shakopee. You don’t need to place a bet on the horses, but it’s more fun if you do!
