Greenville Farmer’s Market offers variety of products homegrown or handmade in Hunt County | Local News

On most Saturdays in downtown Greenville, the pleasant smells of fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal soap and other homemade goods greet all who stop by the local farmer’s market.

The vendors who have been selling the fruits of their labors at the Greenville Farmers Market include family farms, cottage industries and other small businesses from throughout Hunt County and the surrounding area.

Some of the vendors who have been active at the Greenville Farmer’s Market in recent weeks include:

• Ashmore’s Pecan Creek Farm from Lone Oak

The family-owned and operated farm sells brown eggs produced by free-range chickens. They also sell seasonal produce, including tomatoes, onions, eggplant, and a variety of peppers, figs and pears. They also sell jellies and jams made from produce grown on their farm.

• Betterton Farms from Celeste

Betterton Farms sells seasonal produce including okra, onions, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, jalapenos, black eyed peas and cantaloupe.

• Brecheisen Farm from Campbell

Brecheisen is a producer and seller of a large variety of seasonal produce, which can (depending on the season) include potatoes, onions, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, okra, cucumber, onions, kale and lettuce. They also sell fresh eggs.

• Campbell Cottage Bakery from Campbell

The Campbell Cottage Bakery is an artisan baker that makes bread, cinnamon rolls, pretzels, fresh milled whole wheat, sprouted wheat, vanilla and various other baked goods.

• Crossley’s Sweet P Pastures from Wolfe City

Crossley’s is a small family owned and operated farmstead, where they raise poultry and pigs, as well as grow pumpkins.

• Daily Lavender Farm from Farmersville

The farm produces handmade bath and body products using lavender harvested in Farmersville. They also make and sell fresh salsa.

• Evey’s Pantry from Greenville

Evey’s Pantry sells freeze dried fruits, veggies and homemade candy.

• Field of Greens Nursery from Caddo Mills

Field of Greens sells plants and shrubs, including hanging baskets.

• FLOHAS Farms from Ladonia

This sustainable farm produces fresh, free-range eggs and specializes in Japanese vegetables grown from imported seeds. They also make and sell handmade pottery.

• Found Penny Farms from Commerce

Found Penny Farms produces a variety of homemade fresh breads, sweet breads, cookies, cakes, granola and more.

• Frederickson Farm from Celeste

Frederickson Farm is a maker of goat milk products, handmade wool products, beeswax lip balm, fresh eggs, and a variety of fresh seasonal produce.

• Gibson Farms from Caddo Mills

Items made and sold by Gibson Farms include hand-crocheted items of various kinds, handmade wooden toys, homemade/sensitive skin friendly liquid laundry soap, and occasional fresh herbs and vegetables.

• Hoppin R Farm from Greenville

Hoppin R Farm sells vegetable plants, flowers and vegetables such as tomatoes, squash, okra and greens when in season.

• Hunt County Coffee from Greenville

Hunt County Coffee is a small-batch specialty coffee roaster that makes single origin green-produced coffee

• Lewis Farm from Celeste

Depending on the season, Lewis Farms produces and sells pickles, jams, jellies, fresh breads, fresh veggies, watermelons and cantaloupes.

• M & B Farm from Poetry

The farm produces blackberries, blueberries, peaches and tomatoes. They also bake cookies, some of which contain fruit grown on the farm.

• MushLove Gourmet from Greenville

MushLove produces fresh, locally grown mushrooms of several different varieties, including lions mane, oysters, shiitake, king trumpet and more.

• Pullen Family Farms from Commerce

The family farm specializes in producing homegrown beef, pork and chicken.

• Sassy Sweets from Greenville

Sassy Sweets has home-baked goods, fresh eggs, salsa, herb butter and handcrafted items for sale.

• Troy Bass Farms from Farmersville

Troy Bass Farms has fresh produce including potatoes, cucumbers, squash, corn, beets, okra, carrots, greens, watermelons, cantaloupes and others depending on the season.

• Vorfreude Plant Shop from Greenville

Vorfreude Plant Shop Specializes in interior plants and design, and also sells herbs and soil.

• Zane & James Apiary from Campbell

The apiary produces honey, bee products and eggs.
