Stella Nova Resort ready for visitors ahead of Epic Universe

This year, Universal Orlando Resort is set to open three new hotels and its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.While the new park doesn’t open until May 22, WESH 2 got a first look at Universal Stella Nova Resort on Thursday. It’s the first in the group to open starting Tuesday, Jan. 21. “Of course, they’ll be attracted by the proximity to Epic Universe, the free transportation that you get to all of our theme parks and Universal CityWalk. They’ll be attracted by the price point. It’s a great value for all our guests,” said Dennis Quinn, Universal Orlando Resort’s senior vice president of hotel communication strategy. When guests enter the hotel, they will step through the entrance resembling a Black hole vortex. Universal says it’s designed to transport guests to a different place and time.”It’s a great entrance statement for all of Universal Epic Universe. To come in off Universal Boulevard and turn left on Kirkman Road, and you’re met with Stella on one side, Terra on the other, is gonna be amazing,” said Russ Dagon, senior vice president of resort development for Universal Creative.Universal Terra Luna Resort is the sister hotel to Stella Nova. It opens March 25.”Boasting a combined total of 1,500 luminous, ultramodern and surreal guest rooms, Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort provide even more options for guests to seamlessly experience all the jaw-dropping thrills of a Universal Orlando vacation at an affordable price point starting at$147 (per night, plus tax) based on a stay of four nights or more,” Universal said in a release.Universal says both hotels are designed to look like galaxies and planetary surroundings, from the 144,000 colorful tiles on the outside of each building to the wall art inside featuring pictures from NASA.There are also constellations on the ceilings when walking to the rooms and spaceship-style windows so guests can rest amongst the stars.Guests can see the attractions at Epic from one side of the hotel. “Just the story that it tells of coming into a celebration of our universe, the purple and the teal of the hotel,” said Quinn. “The proximity to Epic, I’m very, very proud of what we’ve done here,” said Dagon.Once both hotels open, Universal will have 11 hotels with 11,000 guest rooms.Stella Nova and Terra Luna Amenities•Resort-style pools — Each hotel features a nearly 10,000 square foot pool with a relaxing hot tub, comfortable lounge and table-top seating in the pool area, a fire pit and more. Plus, the whole family can enjoy the resort’s recreational activities, like poolside movies and outdoor games.•Fitness centers — Guests can take advantage of complimentary, state-of-the-art fitness centers featuring a variety of strength and cardio equipment–and, locker rooms with showers available for use on arrival and departure days.•Game rooms — guests of all ages can enjoy a variety of standard arcade and video games in the hotels’ dedicated game rooms.•Recreation rooms — each hotel features approximately 1,000 square-feet of multi-purpose space for small gatherings.•Universal Orlando resort stores — guests can purchase everything from sundries and necessities to Universal Orlando merchandise to commemorate their vacation.
