TMCs recognised in Best Workplaces in Travel Awards

Two travel management companies have been recognised in this year’s Best Workplaces in Travel Awards.

Access Bookings was awarded Best Mid-Size Company and Blue Cube Travel won third place in the same category.

The awards are based on employee feedback and each employer receives analysis, trends and practical next steps to help turn insight into impact.

Lee Gunn, COO of Access Bookings, said: “When our employees rate us on what matters most to them and we deliver, we know we’re doing something right. Importantly, it’s proof that we invest in creating a stronger and more engaged workplace that people enjoy and feel proud of and that they come to work feeling motivated and content.”

“And we don’t want to stop here either, we look forward to further putting plans in motion to enhance our programmes, policies and pathways right across the board.”

Access Bookings and Blue Cube were the only two companies representing the business travel industry in this year’s awards, which were dominated by leisure travel specialists.

Best Large Company was Designer Travel and Best Small Company was Luxury Coastal.

This year, 20 travel companies achieved a place on the coveted hotlist, a sign that despite continued economic pressure and ongoing industry change, people still matter.

In a year where the overall engagement score dipped slightly to 79% (down 1%), the top performers stood out for their ability to retain, develop and energise their people. Notably, eNPS remained a strong +56, reflecting solid advocacy across the industry.

Best Workplaces in Travel Co-founder Gail Kenny said: “This year’s results paint a picture of resilience and commitment, despite the economic and geopolitical challenges the travel industry faces.

“Even where the data shows small dips, the best travel employers are using this insight to improve, not to panic. And that’s the point of Best Workplaces in Travel: real feedback, real action.”

This year’s research found the top five factors that employees say make a travel company a great place to work in 2025 are:

  • 1. Respect for work–life balance
  • 2. Part of a team that works well together
  • 3. Leaders are positive, supporting and inspiring
  • 4. People are paid fairly
  • 5. All individuals are valued
  • 6. Recognition and thanks for a job well done
